+103 No matter how much people say they dont like one direction they secretly know that "What Makes You Beautiful" is a good song. amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, because it isn't

Reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7CHfqg0wd8

by Anonymous 11 years ago

"We are the seventh sign of the apocalypse" saved it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Haha! My favorite is "we don't know what boners are!"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wait, is that like, common knowledge it something?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

With the exception of boy bands, it does seem to be

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Crap, does that mean I'm in a boy band?

Have you seen the behind-the-scenes video of that parody? Long story short, some chick runs up to them, believing they're the real One Direction, and asks to get a picture with them. As they take the pictures, Monroe (the guy who played Zayn/the one with the pink thong) raises up his shirt so the thong's showing, and the girl doesn't notice. Oh, what I would give to see her reaction when she reviewed those pictures at home.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But you could be the Justin one! Idk, he gets it in with Mila Kunis, I'd say that's a fair trade for not knowing what boners are for a few years

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And oh boy I have to find that video now! Haha

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But then again, did anyone hate N Sync the way they hate One Direction? I'm pretty sure 6-year old me didn't. And also, yes, Mila Kunis is definitely worth it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But the 17-20 year olds did. That's what happens. When you're young, you love them. Hence why 12 year old girls love the Biebs, when 90% of the internet hates his guts.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Huh. I never realized before but it is really dependent on age. I loved N Sync too btw

The people of BarelyPolitical (the YouTube channel that makes these parodies) are usually pretty on-topic, and more often than not, fairly clever. I really enjoy them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

There's a difference between a "good song" and a "good band"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Just because someone says they don't like something, this song for instance, doesn't mean they're lying and actually like it. I don't have a problem with One Direction, and if you want to listen them go for it, but I don't really want to hear it. Or read about it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm a huge fan of One Direction, but What Makes You Beautiful is actually one of their worst songs. They have so many better ones, I don't understand why it was that one that became a hit.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree they have better songs, but its more catchy then their other songs.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think it's a cute song, but the overhype surrounding them kind of makes it really difficult for me to want to explore their music further.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's not a good song, just catchy. I get really tired of insecure teenage girls saying "It makes me feel beautiful for once". They're just preying on your insecurities, not trying to make you feel better.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I belt that song like a motherfucker. Not because it's a good song but because it's too catchy for its own good.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

i think its a really bad song but i like there other, less popular songs

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't know about that, but I think they secretly wish to fondle at least one of the guys.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

First: It's awful. Second: Even though it's a crap song, somehow, my local radio station added some kind of beat that didn't go with it at all and it got even worse >.<

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I am a big fan of them, and I'll agree that WMYB isn't their best song. But you can't say that they don't try hard or don't want it because they arent just five best friends with too much money and auto tune. They got where they are by auditioning for the X factor, passing and going to boot camp. They didnt audition together, but as solo artists. They were 16 when they auditioned. Of course their voices aren't going to be as mature as some other singers. But at least they are trying and going for their dreams. And their live songs are actually a lot better then some live artists. Yeah, they use auto tune, but what popstar doesn't these days? They have been writing some of the songs on their next album by themselves. So you can't say that they posses no talent. Yes, they are overhyped by the radio and crazy teenage girls and their crazy Directioner fans, but they really are pretty talented.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Sometimes management make artists be a certain way to gain popularity, you can just blame them for stuff like autotune and songs they didnt write. A heap of other artists do it so you cant just pin it on only them. And if you listen to some of their acoustics you'll see that actually have talented voices. They've worked hard to get where they are. You try going on national tv and compete against other people who are there trying to beat you. Do that and then complain about it.
