+264 Even if it meant you would receive a detention or some other type of punishment, you would still stand up to a bully, amirite?

Only if they were teasing somebody else.

I got suspended for it once. Fuck justice.

Me too, fucking "Zero Tolerance!"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Zero tolerance policies never work.

Why? What exactly happened?

It was at a football game in highschool, and these girls were making fun of this other girl for being overweight and so I told them to stop but they just kept getting worse. And they started yelling and shit and threatening her so I like tried to drag them away. Not like drag drag, but trying to get them to move and so one like flipped and hit me so I grabbed her arms and then her other friend hit me. So I hit them both, only harder. A security guard saw and knew I went to the high school (they didn't..I don't know why they were there) and so I got suspended for the rest of the week. Which was like 2 days.

I think everyone would like to think they would.. But how come most bully stories never turn up that way? There are videos of a bully picking on someone and everyone just walks by. It's hard to act in the moment.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Maybe. It depends on the situation. If it was physical bullying I wouldn't be useful for shit

Shut the fuck up. **Most** of you voting YYA are lying to yourselves. Had this been worded. "You would wish you could stand up to the bully" I would believe. But it's not. The most a lot of you will do is watch the bullying take place and just not laugh about it or perhaps ask the victim later if they are okay. Very few of you will ever do something in the moment.

As a person who has been bullied A LOT as a child I would stand up for someone. I have before. Don't count all of us as liars.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I did say most. In fact it's in bold. And so was I when I was young and that's why I know about how people act when they see it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree that most wouldn't actually do it, but I have before. In fact, I have a regular habit of standing up to people far bigger than me, and I've almost gotten beat up for it several times.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Maybe yya-ing this post will get someone thinking about, and next time they will think to act. You shouldn't hate on people for having good intentions.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Is this saying you would stand up to someone who was bullying you, or that you would stand up to someone bullying someone else? If it was the former, then hell yeah I'd stand up to them. I'd probably get my ass kicked, but at least I'd try. If it was someone else getting bullied, then I probably wouldn't unless it was a good friend. I know I'm probably a bad person because of that, but at least I'm honest.

I'd like to think and say I would, but when the situation actually comes up, who really knows?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I definitely would. I wouldn't want to be bullied and not have someone stand up for me :/

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not physically, I would rather take the punch.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I wish I could YYA but it really depends on the situation.
