Part of growing up is realizing that you can't be nice to everybody, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Sure you can. I think that part of growing up is realizing that you don't have to be nice to everybody.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I agree. That makes more sense.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Then that's your choice. But you don't //have// to be nice to everyone.

I use what some people may refer to as "too many" bad words... ALL the time.
Fuck.

You are quickly becoming my least favorite user on this site.

And realizing that not everyone is going to be nice to you, even if you did nothing to them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think that should have been the post. You can be grown up and still try to be nice to everybody.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I always did as much as possible to please everyone except myself as a child, but now I'm finally learning that disappointing other people is part of discovering who you are. It's sad...

I think a big part of growing up is that you can be nice to everybody, but you can't give everybody what they want.

I like how you said "part of growing up". It annoys me when people say "growing up is .... " like that's all that it is.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Lol for me it's the opposite. I used to be mean to everyone and think I'm better. It's still a challenge to humble myself and love everyone as Christ did.
by Anonymous12 years ago
This is ridiculous, everyone hated everyone else as a kid.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Where the fuck did you grow up? The only kids I hated as a kid were the ones who cheated at Candy Land, Battle Ship, and Uno and even then I got over it within an hour or so after we started playing something else.
by Anonymous12 years ago
So when you were a kid you were nice to absolutely everyone you met?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Actually, yeah. I was one of those bubbly, bouncy, always smiling and cheerful little girls who never said a mean word to anyone. I never wanted to upset anyone, I never wanted to hurt anyone's feelings or disappoint anyone, so I was only ever nice to people. Even when I was upset with them or "hated" someone, I kept it to myself and kept on being happy and nice to them. Now, however, I make it no secret when I dislike someone or when I'm mad at them; life's too short to care about what everyone else thinks and feels and disregard your own thoughts and feelings.

Fair enough, you'd probably do well not to meet the kids where I live.
