+302 It seems kind of redundant to have an "About the Author" section in the back of an autobiography, amirite?

No I think it's about as redundant as a summary at the back of a movie/book. Sure the entire thing is there for you to explore but in brief, in one page, it is that summary.

They aren't really summaries though. That would imply that they give away the most important details of the book/movie, especially the conclusion. It's more of a description, which is pretty necessary unless you want to end up accidentally reading something like Fifty Shades of Grey.

If I'm ever cool enough to write an autobiography, I want the About the Author section to say, "Bitch, what do you think this book is?" Or something to that effect.
