+129 When you call any business, school, or institution, the people who answer should be (or at least sound) happy and upbeat. If someone answers the phone and has a dreary slow voice and they make it sound like talking to you is a chore and they're doing it for the money (even if they are), you won't want to use them. Better mood = better business, amirite?

Agreed. In all honesty, this is exactly why I have anxiety issues with talking on the phone (and talking to people at desks). People who sound tired always make me think they secretly hate me and that I'm making their lives miserable. :P
