+124 A written constitution is a double-edged sword - on the one hand it absolutely protects the rights of citizens - but on the other hand also acts as a convenient hiding place for the nutjobs of our world, amirite?

I was gonna comment about how our unentrenched/uncodified constitution was so much better, then I realised it has twice as many loopholes...

well, as with many things, each has their advantages and disadvantages. An uncodified constitution makes it easier to change the state into a totalitarian regime, but on the other hand, also makes key reforms easier, since we don't need to debate whether or not these necessary changes are constitutional.

Now I can't help picturing a tiny person crouching and hiding on an old piece of parchment behind the word "people."
