+43 To girls who complain about guys leaving the toilet seat up: IT'S NOT EXACTLY HEAVY, just move it yourself! And since we're all equal anyway, how about you leave it up after YOU'RE done with it? amirite?

Actually, making the man do all the toilet seat moving is quite sexist! It only perpetuates the idea that women need men to take care of them. Therefore, in order to empower women everywhere, I will leave the seat up.

That's exactly the sentiment I was going for

Oh... I was being sarcastic...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

...why?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I have a thing about touching toilet seats with anything other than my hinee.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

well get over it, woman, hahaha

by Anonymous 11 years ago

because men need it down too, for when they #2....and leaving it up can be a potential danger to someone who doesnt notice....also things may fall in, etc etc...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think the reasoning women have is "it's too heavy", but that it's disgusting and anyone would want to avoid touching it if they can.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

To be fair there's no danger of the guy falling in when he has to pee.

I prefer the seat and the lid down. Flushing the toilet while it's open just seems a lil gross, but it's really not a big deal either way.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I put the seat and lid down out of habit. I've had cats and dogs and so I've always just put it all down when I was finished.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Same. I put both down simply because my parents (mostly my dad actually) taught me to do it at an early age. Now I can't stand to see the lid up and it just seems gross like Deathelf mentioned. But I think it's a good compromise... everybody gets the responsibility of putting some sort of lid/seat down.

It's a ridiculously small task that nobody should bitch about, ever. And if women are afraid of falling in, maybe they should pay any amount of attention to the world around them.

Its not a sexist thing, its a respect/courteous thing. If the toilet is going to be up only 25% of the time its just selfish reasoning to keep it up, like youre not even thinking of the other ppl who use it.
