This is kind of meaningless since attractiveness is entirely subjective, and you have the whole straight/gay difference affecting people's views. I wouldn't be surprised if this one stays split right down the middle

Men are naturally more attractive than women, especially in the animal kingdom. Peacocks are the ones with the pretty feathers, not peahens. Women dress themselves up.

I know that what you say is true, but I can't help but disagree when it comes to humans. Generally, in mankind, men are the ones that are more picky and selective when it comes to the physical traits of their significant other. They want a woman who looks young, fertile and attractive because they'd be best suited to pass on the man's genes into the next generation. Women look for men of dominance that show interest in taking care of children. So, generally, a woman's looks matter more.

Oh, I definitely agree with that. But I think in nature and even women naturally have to go to further lengths to improve their appearance. This might correlate to what you're saying, that men have higher expectations.

Woman have a lot more things they can do to change they're level of attractiveness. Makeup can drastically change how women look, so a higher number of women can push up into the 'attractive' slot.

Yes, but women also generally put a lot more effort into their appearance. I hear that some women wake up an hour or 2 early to do their makeup and pretty themselves up. I don't know about other guys, but I get up 20 minutes before I leave to brush my teeth, put on a random outfit, and make sure none of my hairs are sticking up. That's it.
