+49 More MMOs should feature voice chat. You don't want to have to stop hunting or PvPing to give commands or hold a conversation, amirite?

It would be convenient, but might not be good to have another process for the game to run. That's what people use teamspeak and the like for.

Skype, TeamSpeak, Mumble, Vent. There are lots of programs you can use instead.

I understand there are many alternatives. But they all require you to get the address of the guy you want to talk to and stuff, and you can't just broadcast. Plus, being separate programs, they need their own sustaining processes and use up more RAM. A process i nthe game will require at most 1000kB of RAM in addition to the game's RAM. Also, not everyone may have it. If you use teamspeak, and another guy only has skype, isn't that just as useless? Having it as a process in game ensures everyone has and can use it, an is less memory intensive.
