My cousins were just in town this past weeked and we played mafia seriously over 50 times. I was mafia maybe...7 times, and I won 4 times as mafia.

Either that or the inactive players really weaken the town... Also, I think normally in mafia, they only have about a 1/4 chance of winning, to compensate for the fact that they are 1/4 of the players.

The winner's not all about balance, though. The mafia could win just because they had too much power. A well-balanced game is when the mafia have a fighting chance... and the narrator doesn't have loose lips

There are all sort of factors that play in. Personally I think Game Four was the best because the bears came ever so close to winning, but the campers won by a fraction. Also it was really intense.

Could someone tell me what Mafia is? I'm trying to piece it together by reading the comments, but that helped in no way and just made it sound like a fever dream.

It's a game we're playing in the forums. It's mafia vs townspeople, basically. The mafia kills someone at night (and then there are other roles that preform night actions, like doctor, detective, etc) and then the townspeople try to guess who's a mafia member during the day while the mafia try to mislead them. The mafia wins if they outnumber the civilians and the civilians win if they kill all the mafia members.
