Same with most TV shows. Full House, iCarly, Hannah Montana, The Andy Griffith Show, and even Sister, Sister.

Actually each sister has an adopted parent. Ray is Tamara's dad and Lisa is Tia's mom. In one episode they say that their parents died when they were born. So yes, there technically is present both a mother and father but the backstory goes along with the "horrible and depressing" from the post.

Yep, because coming from a single parent is so horrifically depressing that I'm amazed I even made it up to 19.
