-114 It's not fair for people to say homosexuality isn't a sin because, in some religions, it is, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But why should someone say homosexuality is a sin if they personally don't believe that, or they are in a religion that doesn't believe it's a sin, just because some religions believe it is a sin?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

When someone tells me that homosexuality is a sin, they might as well tell me that homosexuality is disrespectful to milkshakes. It doesn't make sense and isn't applicable to the real world as it pertains to the mental health and well being of others

Religion only brings truth to those who believe religion to be truthful.

Urggghh just stop arguing and let the man on man/woman on woman action commence

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't understand why religious people care so much about other people "sinning". Shouldn't they just worry about their own sins?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I 100% agree, but the post has terrible wording so it may not have come across that way :P

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah I re-read it and I think I understand what you're trying to say!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Good, I didn't sound //totally// incoherently stupid! y

The bible definitely condemns homosexuality. You can't get much more explicit than "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination." The issue is whether what the bible says should have any impact on the law, which it shouldn't, because separation of church and state is a key feature of the law. Another issue is whether anyone should care if the bible condemns it...the bible condemns gluttony but that doesn't stop 70% of people in the Western world from being overweight. Why should anyone care if 1/20 people prefer having sex with the same gender? We're all sinners by the bible's standards, and that will never, ever change.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

because christian homosexuals aren't making an effort to stop living in sin. just because we're all sinners doesn't we we should accept that and not try to change it

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Time spent wishing other people would stop sinning is wasted time.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@Anonymous But if they repent in some fashion, they'll be forgiven no matter what and it's all okay.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think we should ban pork because that is a sin in some religions.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

First of all, your comment made me lol. Second, I hope it didn't sound like I was trying to say I think we should ban homosexuality. I also worded this post very poorly, and I apologize, but I'm too lazy to think of another way to say things y

Picture walking up to a black person and saying "blackness is a sin". First of all, that's ridiculously offensive, and second of all how is it a sin for him to be black if his skin tone is something he has no control over? It's the same with homosexuality. Even if it was a sin, gay people aren't choosing to be sinners. They didn't choose to be gay, so they shouldn't get so much shit for "sinning" when it isn't even their fault.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I totally agree with the part about not choosing to be gay, but that's an inapt comparison. No religions in any way say that being black is a sin, but some do say so about homosexuality.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, I know that no religions say that being black is a sin, I was just trying to switch the word gay for black to show how ridiculous it sounds when you replace homophobia with racism. I'm not that good with words, but you get the idea. haha

Oh, I get your point now.
