+149 You don't think you could handle being roasted like celebrities. You would probably start crying and get insulted pretty quick, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I just can't imagine someone finding my life interesting and having no privacy.

It wouldn't be fun, but I think I could handle myself while I was there. I'm fairly good at dealing with insults.

The thing that's scary is that it's not just insults but can be death threats. Even if most came from jealous Internet trolls, I'd be nervous.

That's a pretty good point. I get disturbed by things very easily, so I suppose if websites were filled with plans to murder me (like with Justin Bieber), I'd get pretty uncomfortable. Eh, I'm changing my vote. I thought the post just meant a roast, like those things on Comedy Central or wherever, but if they mean stuff on the internet, I'm changing my vote.

It kind of depends, I think. With Charlie Sheen, it was really fucking obvious what they were going to joke about. If I had done some crazy shit like that, I think I could handle it because I would know that's what they'd probably focus on.

Then why did you vote the post up?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because I'm not Charlie Sheen and haven't done any crazy shit. If I //had//, I could deal with it. Under normal circumstances, I couldn't.

Being in the limelight and having been repeatedly exposed to all sorts of negative criticism, celebrities have to become thick skinned. As a non celebrity, I don't have that advantage. I'd like to say I could probably handle it, but that's just me trying to sound cool.

i would be fine with it because i would wipe my tears with 100 dollar bills.

...at a Whitney Houston tribute.

I tend to be a somewhat insecure person, but I think I'd be good-natured in that sort of situation, because those sort of things, they're not actually criticizing you, just comically addressing your flaws. I'm more than well aware of my faults, so I'd probably be able to predict what the jokes would be poking fun at. Nothing would come as any sort of surprise to me. And if it's funny, I think that would make it even easier to hear.

I'm a really self-confident person. I think it may hurt a little, but overall it wouldn't really phase me.
