+109 It's ironic that non-violent rape, a purely physical act, harms the victim in every way (socially, emotionally, psychologically) except physically, amirite?

What's non violent rape? :/

Thats what I was gonna say

Rape where you're not physically forced, like if you're drugged or threatened into it

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Although technically, anything which causes harm (physical, emotional, psychological, social, etc.) would be considered to be violent.

Its still violence man.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If the man has a very large penis. It might cause damage.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah or like if the girl is really young or something.

The problem is that different people approach pain in different ways, so even if the act was non-violent it could still hurt physically.

Rape is traumatic, no matter how physically painful it is. Rape is, by its very definition (forced sex without the consent of the victim), an act that rids the victim of his/her bodily autonomy. The rapist feels entitled to use the victim's body in any way he/she sees fit. It must be terrible to constantly be reminded that your body is not really your own.

Isn't that psychological, which was already covered?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think the OP was belittling the trauma of rape, just pointing out the twisted irony of the fact that such a harmful act can be committed without leaving any physical wounds on the victim, while leaving such horrible psychological wounds.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes, but the main irony is that rape does not take emotions, psychology etc into account, and its purely concerned with the physical, yet it harms in every way except physically, if non-violent.
