+205 Many people say we have enough coal and oil to last us for hundreds of years. Well, we have enough wind and sun to last us for billions of years, minus the pollution! Which is ultimately more worthwhile to pursue, amirite?

Unoriginal post? :P But I totally agree

Nuclear.

^ Not very safe

All the sun is is millions of nuclear reactions occurring every second

The constant risk of nuclear meltdowns and the difficulty of waste disposal has always barred the spread of nuclear power. Also, Danny, the Sun utilizes nuclear fusion, not nuclear fission like a traditional nuclear power plant. If we could somehow harness nuclear fusion, it would be less dangerous and we would literally have limitless power, but that's not technologically feasible right now.

Hydrogen power. Burns like oil, produces water, can be created through sun/wind energy, completely clean burning

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That works too. I could've listed several more alternatives but I wanted to keep the post succinct. As long as it's clean and doesn't dump pollutants into the air or damage the environment.

wow, what a dumb post.

In the end, the people who make these decisions just do what's more profitable for them. Sad but true.

I agree, but I've heard some people have reported feeling ill after being around wind turbines. There's that to think about, too. Don't quote me on this, though; I could be wrong.

I read somewhere that in about 30 years, we won't have any more helium.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't see how that could be possible. Helium is the second most abundant element in the Universe.

Nuclear is a lot safer than it use to be.. With all the regulations and positions of where the actual fission takes place a meltdown would be unlikely.
