+199 You don't really know what to say when you find out that another teenager has had or is having a baby. You want to say congratulations, since babies are such a happy thing, but also you know it was a mistake and will probably have a lot of negative impact on the parents' lives. amirite?

I dislike this because it seems like OP is assuming that anytime a teenager has a baby it HAS to be a mistake. Teenagers can be good parents too!

First off, 18 and 19 year olds are generally out of high school. And just because you're still in high school doesn't mean that a baby is a mistake. 90% of the time it's a bad idea. But that doesn't mean that it's always a bad thing.

Be serious. What percentage of teen pregnancies do you think were people in stable relationships that wanted to start families? They're out of highschool, but what about college? Yeah, I'm assuming that MOST are a mistake, because it's a fact that they are.

Well in your post you worded it to say that ALL were mistakes. I don't mind admitting that most are mistakes, but i think that its rude and offensive to say that all teen babies are mistakes

Yeah, I guess "most likely" would have fit well into the post.

It would have helped me haha

You should always say congratulations. She's keeping the baby, and she's probably worried as hell too. So you might as well make her feel better about herself and ease her mind a little about being judged.

I couldn't really figure out of to word that in a post.
