+10 Truthfully, it's harder to have an attractive body as a male than as a female. Men need to have low percentage body fat as well as high muscle mass to have the "perfect body", whereas women really only need low body fat. amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The perfect body should be just having a body that's healthy.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's a good body. a perfect body is something more.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you're healthy and have a body, you already have a perfect body. If you want to go into the aesthetics of it all, then you're going in too deep and turning superficial.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But would it not be better to have a healthy body that is also aesthetically pleasing? if so, then there exists something better than a healthy body, therefore, a body that is just healthy is not perfect. Perfect means the best it can ever be, not good enough to let you live the longest possible life.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not really, considering looks don't really do anything.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

They do. They get you laid more easily, for example. And if you think about it, we find certain things attractive because they help with tribal survival. As long as the person still looks human (not the balloon man I mentioned higher up) , of course. Thus, however small, looks do do stuff. Now since you say looks don't do anything, you imply that you couldn't care less. How would you like it if someone painted every one of your possessions your least favourite colour?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No. They don't /do/ anything. They literally just sit there and people judge them. They don't do //anything//. I don't really have a least favorite color, and I was referring to human appearances which are now useless. If my vase wants to sit there and look pretty, good, because that's the only reason I have that vase. To look pretty. Humans aren't for just looking pretty. If they are, they have no worth.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think you see my point. My point is that a healthy, unattractive body is imperfect, as in it is not the best it could ever be. A healthy, attractive body is also imperfect, but is closer to perfection because it has one less flaw.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes, and I'm saying that's wrong. Because first of all, beauty is subjective. It differs from person to person and you can only be perfect in at least one person's eyes, but not every person's eyes. And health isn't subjective, it's fact. It doesn't rely opinions.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I understand that, but there is a general consensus that a giant mouth and everything else tiny for example, is unattractive. THat's why I say it's still imperfect, but it's definitely closer to perfection. Ther is no such thing as a perfect body, but one that has both health and looks is closer than one with just health. Marginally, but still closer.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, because some people find those attractive. If it's not fact, it can't be perfect. That's what I say.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

GENERAL consensus. And you can be in perfect health, yet not have the perfect body. In fact, even health can be perfect. If it were perfect, then that means the person could not have a stronger heart, therefore he has the strongest heart biologically possible for humans. That's just one example. He'd have to be the best in everything to be truly perfect, and then he'd have to be at the theoretical limit for organ efficiency.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Tails, we're not talking about looks and personality, we're just looking at looks. I'm sure blockhead here knows that a hot girl with a vapid personality is unattractive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No shit.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Mchalla, I wasn't talking about personality. Did you even read anything? I'm saying perfect health exists because health is fact, and perfect beauty doesn't exist because beauty is opinionated. A perfect body has to have perfect health, but a perfect body doesn't have to be beautiful.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I still think you're misusing the word perfect. Perfect bodies don't and cannot exist, except maybe Adam's and Eve's, and only because theirs were said to be made by God himself, personally. A body with perfect health could theoretically exist. But just because a body has perfect health doesn't make it perfect. For instance, it could be a centimetre taller. Since that is an improvement, it was imperfect before the improvement. Or, with a little training, it would like another pound of weight. Since that too is an improvement, it was previously imperfect. This is the same concept as there is no highest number, because there is always a +1.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's not that he's misusing it, it's just that he's using it in a different way than you are, blockhead. He's taking it on the health aspect, which is easier to compare from person to person because it is fact, as he said. Beauty is subjective, so it's harder to compare.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

He is misusing it. He says a body with perfect health is a perfect body. Being perfect in one aspect, no matter how big, does not make all other aspects perfect by diffusion of something.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No he isn't. He's just using it in a different way. Your idea of perfect is looks. His idea of perfect is health.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My idea of perfect is everything. Not just looks, not just body. I think you need to be perfect in everything to be perfect.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

BLOCKHEAD THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT LOOK

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Did I say there was? I'm saying it is a requirement for a perfect body, and i never said a perfect body is possible.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No it's not a requirement if it's based on opinion. Perfection is based on unreachable facts.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I define perfect as no faults. No faults means no one can ever find a way to improve it. If anyone can make it so that they personally thinks it's better, it's not perfect. Thus, nothing is ever perfect. I think my definition of perfect is stricter than yours...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Everyone has their own version of perfect, for B10ckH34d here, it may be some cute, shy girl; while Adonis may picture a goddess of sorts. There's really no need for argument.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't have a type of person I would ever define as perfect. I will only ever use the word figuratively, because no one can be flawless in everyone's eyes.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

For guys that's the general consensus yes, but with girls there's more of a mix of opinions on what looks good.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

as far as i know, some girls like having guys who are big. not fat, but well built. for girls it seems like they either have to be skinny or extremely fit to be attractive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

As a guy, I think big boobs are wayyyyyy overrated... average boobs are fine. Any bigger, and they start to get gross looking.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

B or C cup is the best in generral, according to the many guys I have spoken to on this subject. And it's not so hard for thin girls to have that. And A cup girls tend to have small thin, delicate frames. Which is so beautiful in my opinion. So it's win-win.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I know plenty of girls who like skinny slight guys, with low body fat and barely any muscle on them, and I know tons of girls who only go for fat or chubby guys as well. But the main issue I have with this post is that genetics plays a huge factor. It's a lot harder for girls to lose body fat than guys, for one. But the other is that when someone tries to lose body fat, they can't decide where it's lost from. So a girl may lose weight and end up with a very flat chest, and a protruding stomach. Definitely not mainstream attractive. I think it's equally difficult.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because everyone thinks that only thin people are attractive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, but the majority of people don't think fat people are attractive and a lower body fat index is generally a requierment in most people's eyes for them to have a nice body.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's not fair because generally speaking, all guys need to do to get a "hot" body is work out a lot. Whereas for girls, no matter how much they exercise, they can't change things like boobs and a butt because girls are so diverse, where guys typically have streamlined features that can be easily improved. (This is obviously not true for everyone.)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And thus, making it harder for girls to be more attractive, body-wise.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I can't get a square jaw or broad shoulders nor can I be taller.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Above anon, no but if you had a six pack or just a lot of muscle in general, most girls would think that's hot, broad shoulders or not.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

"All guys need to do to get a 'hot' body is work out a lot." No. Some people, including myself, have a very difficult time gaining muscle. It isn't just working out: diet and genetics both play huge roles. It's equally difficult for both genders (body-wise). Also, people need to stop stressing about "ideal" body types. There's a lot of stuff you can't change about yourself, so instead of stressing over it you should use that energy to find someone that appreciates who for who you are. *That last sentence is cheesy, but true.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't agree. I think it's a matter of opinion. I, for example, am bisexual but I have higher standards for finding females attractive than males.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But guys can safely work towards getting that perfect body. Girls can make their chest and butt bigger but there are health risks. We don't choose our body, but guys can change theirs so that it's "perfect"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes but if your butt didn't get very big during puberty, and you have a small one, squats arent gonna make it bigger

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Hmm. But then your butt and boobs would be inproportianate. (I don't know how to spell that, sorry)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It doesn't matter how difficult it is to acquire the "perfect" body. Maybe it is harder for guys. But if guys don't have a "perfect" body, it doesn't matter as much as it does for girls. Think about it: less attractive guys can still have positive roles in movies, while the only "ugly" women in movies get the roles where their ugliness is a major plot point.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ohhh fuck no. Keep in mind all the things girls nowadays have to do to stay "pretty". Tanning, perms, exercising, boob jobs, plastic surgery in general, waxing, makeup, extensions, etc. The standards are much higher for girls or so it seems. And FYI girls don't need to be thin to be attractive. People expect them to hav huge tits, a nice ass, flat stomach & slightly toned evrywhere else

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That happens to pale guys as well

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@AUsernameOf18Letters, don't listen to the people telling you that you need to change yourself, you are beautiful just the way you are

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm naturally a really scrawny guy. Last summer I was 5'10 and weighed 130 lbs. It's extremely hard for me to gain weight, but for the past year I've been stuffing myself and going to the gym frequently. I've gained 10 lbs since then and while that is progress, it isn't much, and I can't help thinking, "Damn why do guys need to have prominent muscles?" So that's what prompted this post. Sorry to any I offended but it's how I feel.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Really, no one can say what's more difficult since no one's experienced it. Everyone wants to think that they have the worse deal.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree with this post most of the time. A girl can be out of shape, not exercise and still have a nice body. A guy MUST work out to have a nice body. The disadvantage for girls though, is natural body type. A girl can be skinny but still not have a nice body. But the girls who do nothing to have nice bodies obviously outnumber the guys.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

idk, guys can control every aspect of the size of their muscles. if they want bigger muscles, then they can work out that muscle group more. if a girl wants bigger boobs, there is really nothing she can do

by Anonymous 11 years ago
