-38 Its sad that the idea of the "Female Goddess" was completely destroyed, amirite?

Compared with what, the male goddess?

It's tragic. It is just a representation of the historical stranglehold patriarchy has upon society. Women have been "less than" since the inception of the "Big Three" religions. It manifests itself today in teh struggle for equality, and the devaluation of women in general.

what is this talking about

I'm actually glad. I mean, since we're no longer goddesses, there shouldn't be much of an expectation of us being perfect.

There are though. Greek mythology has female goddesses, and I'm pretty sure Hinduism has a couple too.

Perhapse OP meant that they decreased in popularity.

What are you even saying?

Men are naturally stronger than women. When you think of "God", you imagine an all-powerful being full of might and bravery. Women can contain all of those things (except the whole deity aspect), but the icon for strength is men. Women are more of an icon for compassion, due to the whole motherly aspect. It's just how we perceive things. I think it's justified. That doesn't mean that the possibility of a female deity is wrong; it's just as possible as a male deity, or non-gender specific deity. But a male deity is more commonly accepted, especially with the influence of art portraying Yahweh to be male. Unless you're talking about something else, in which case you need to make your post a lot more detailed.

Also, in the Christian Bible, 'God' is commonly referred to as 'He' or 'Him'. Even though God is supposed to be genderless (right?)

That's true I'm sure.
