If you're equally offended by a stranger coming up to on the street to call you ugly and by a stranger talking to you online to call you ugly, then you don't have a problem except that you're being offended by something stupid. Not because it's the internet, but because it's a stupid thing to get offended over in the first place. "It's just the internet," is not as excuse.

The more I read your shit, AdonisBatheus, the more I think you are a dumbass who really needs some real world experience behind you.

Thanks for pinpointing everything I said and retorting with a strongly worded, intellectual argument. I'm glad to meet someone on this website who isn't into just randomly insulting people because they don't like what they say but they don't pinpoint what they don't like to help the poster realize that so they can properly argue. So insightful and smart. You're one good anon.

Cup of tea, anyone?

No, I think you're wrong to make that assumption. If that person is in an online community, such as amirite, then the community will hold some value to them and as a result, the words or actions of that community can offend or hurt the person. Just like in the offline world.
