+175 All American news tries to force some agenda, it's just that fox news is bad at hiding it, amirite?

Not NPR :D

It annoys me when kids at my school are like FOX NEVER LIES

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I find it hilarious that people continue to bash Fox for being really biased. Has anyone ever watched MSNBC for more than five seconds?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

MSNBC doesn't make FOX any less biased.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I didn't say that it did. The implication was that if people are looking for a good example of an ultra biased news source, Fox is no where near the best one. However, one would never guess that considering how maligned they are around here.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

They're both biased. That doesn't make it hilarious that people bash FOX.

Do I really need to explain to you that "hilarious" in this context was not meant to mean "haha" funny? I meant that the whole thing is laughable in a "wow, people have no idea what they're talking about" sort of way.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's not hilarious in either sense.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, I don't think I've watched MSNBC that much. Democrats aren't Republicans that just watch MSNBC instead of Fox News.

If you want to talk about biased, let's talk about CNN

by Anonymous 11 years ago

CNN is the least biased, but mostly trash.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I guess we can say that all news sources are biased, but just remember, there is a reason that fox is notorious for being biased. If it wasn't the most biased then msnbc would be more famous. Just saying for record that I don't have a political preference.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The only reason it's more famous for being biased is because most people on this site are liberal, which is how MSNBC is leaning. And most of the media is liberal too.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm pretty sure Fox is more well-known than MSNBC for being biased even outside of this website. Maybe it's just me and my liberalness, but I feel like FOX says some pretty out there things. On a different note, media tries to be as unbiased as possible unless it's in a biased network or chain. For example, CNN is known for trying to be impartial, along with USA Today and the NY Times. I think that it's ok to have biased networks because there's unbiased, or as close to unbiased as possible, ones as well. People know which networks are biased towards whatever agendas and which aren't and they make their own decision. HOWEVER, media isn't supposed to have an agenda. It is supposed to report, inform, and be a watchdog of the government. That is all.

It seems like FOX news is more biased because if fox says something biased, it is reported more by the biased media than if NBC or CNN says something biased. I, being a conservative, watch only conservative networks because I think NBC and CNN are the pinnacles of evil. If you are a liberal, you will watch liberal networks because you think FOX news and the Wall Street Journal are the pinnacles of evil. You will obviously hear more about the other sides biases than your own. I still think the other side is more biased though.

My dad watches Fox news all the time, talks about how Obama is a freedom stealing socialist, and how liberals are fucking up America, and everything wrong in America is because of them. I have to listen to him spew bullshit all day.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I have to hear from my grandma about how Christians are evil greedy bastards, romney is a tax avoiding felon, and how Jewish bankers have a underground where they secretly rule the world. Guess what she watches... NBC

All media has bias, but most just have a cultural bias. So for example, an American newspaper or TV channel would present information relevant to Americans that Americans would care about, and it would generally portray America and its values positively. Fox, on the other hand, has an intentional and extreme right-wing bias.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Your point is kind of cloudy, but I'm guessing you mean because most of the media is biased to the left, then they must be providing something people in America want. This argument actually does not hold up because 60% of america identify themselves as conservative, and only 20% liberal Fox news is actually pretty moderate compared with talk radio, which has about 75 million listeners. If fox news was so extreme and out of touch with america, then why does it outperform CNN and other liberal networks? Why does the O'reilly factor have highest rating tv show for 12 years running? I think the situation is the exact opposite. CNN and NBC are to the extreme left, and are out of touch with America, that's why they can't compete with fox news.
