There's at least one movie that's considered a classic that you find overrated, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
What's yours?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Wizard of Oz. I know you weren't asking me but I came here to say it anyway.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's fine :)
I might as well tell everone my movie pick. Hmm I'm going with Citizen Kane. I do like the movie, and I do understand why this movie has been consistently chosen as "the greatest movie of all time" but I just don't think it was that amazing.

I hate the Wizard of Oz.
by Anonymous12 years ago
How can you hate the Wizard of Oz? That's like saying you hate colours.
by Anonymous12 years ago
You're right, it's probably just that black and white part.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The Sound of Music.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I hate the Sound of Music with a passion.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I agree, Wizard of Oz is overrated, but I don't //hate// it.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think I've just had to watch it in choir one too many times.
by Anonymous12 years ago
i've seen it like 6 times and i hated it every single time.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Vertigo... perhaps I didn't like it because I had to watch it for a class.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Does Harry Potter count or too soon?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Way too soon.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Is it really considered a classic?
by Anonymous12 years ago
By obsessive fangirls, yes.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Ti-fucking-tanic.....
by Anonymous12 years ago
Me too! It's just the epitome of over dramatized Hollywood, plus awkward eye contact during that drawing scene.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I love titanic SO much.
by Anonymous12 years ago
What if I like the Titanic purely because I like steam powered machinery and watching ships sink?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Gone with the Wind. Scarlett is a bitch
by Anonymous12 years ago
probably too soon to call it a classic but Avatar bored me so much. Sure the quality of the picture was amazing and the 3D but when you strip all that away it was essentially a boring version of Pocahontas
by Anonymous12 years ago
i never saw that
by Anonymous6 years ago
Idk if Avatar is classic but I don't care cause I hated it.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The original Nightmare On Elm Street. On Yahoo Answers, pretty much all the questions asking for horror recommendations get someone mentioning how "great" it is, but I think it's a really stupid movie. (Granted, I might have had a different opinion if I was a teenager watching it when it was first released.)
by Anonymous12 years ago
I agree with most of the above. Especially Titanic. Citizen Kane too. What about Annie Hall? I mean, I liked it, but I didn't think it was amazing. Am I going to get slaughtered for saying The Godfather?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Again, kind of like Shawshank Redemption in the fact that it moves quite slowly, but definitely amazing in my opinion.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Raging bull is absolutely awful
by Anonymous12 years ago
The Sound of Music, but I don't really like any musicals to be honest.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The Notebook. I mean, I really shouldn't be saying anything because I'm not a fan of romantic movies, but I'd take the Titanic over the Notebook any day.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I don't think The Notebook is considered a classic, is it?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I feel like it's a classic in terms of "the romantic comedy/tragedy." It's a more modern staple in a movie collection.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Titanic, and some of the old "scary" movies.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The Lion King. It's considered a Disney classic, anyway.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I HATE The Lion King!
by Anonymous12 years ago
West Side Story (if that counts)
by Anonymous12 years ago
Singin' In the Rain. I love corny old musicals, but it just got ridiculous when he sings this whole number about Broadway that has nothing to do with the plot. It was just for Gene Kelly to show off. That ruined it for me.

Mean Girls
by Anonymous12 years ago
Boo you whore.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The Shining. Everyone says it's amazing and everything but compared to the book it's really not that great. Shelly Duvall and Jack Nicholson are great at acting but I don't think they were the right choice. Oh, and Danny Lloyd was a terrible actor - I mean I know he was only like four but his acting was so wooden it hurt.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I honestly don't like the original Friday the 13th. It's just really boring to me. Granted Jason is pretty cool but I'm not crazy about the movie.
Oh also Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a movie I never will watch since Leatherface just freaks me out.
