I just dump all my laundry in the washing machine. I've never had anything turn pink. I have problems with clothes shrinking from drying them.

If I don't want something to shrink, I hang dry it and then after its done drying, I throw it into the dryer for a few minutes to soften it and take out the wrinkles.
