+204 Most girls seem to think that saying "You don't know what I've been through" will automatically make them win an argument. Cos..you know..they've been through stuff. amirite?

Sorry I meant "some" girls, not "most girls".

I feel like it's both boys and girls. I've met plenty a young, angry, mouthy teenage boy who uses rap to get across the point "I've experienced unfortunate events in my life, it's not my fault I'm like this"

Sometimes as a joke, I let my inner fierce black woman out and tell people "you don't know me, you don't know my life!"

Don't tell me what I can't do.

Especially when they mean a petty break-up or their parents yelled at them once. There are kids who go through poverty, abusive parents, alcoholics, etc. and you "being through stuff" means THAT? At least have some self-awareness.

Truth is, everybody either has experienced or will experience something bad. However, they do have a point; we ought to be imagining people complexly, and thinking about why they do what they do before judging them. It doesn't excuse awful behavior, though.
