-80 As much as the general population loved Sirius Black, you couldn't help thinking of him sometimes as slightly annoying and immature, amirite?

Yes, I thought some of his impulses were childish and unnerving, but I loved him nevertheless.

My biggest complaint is that according to the books he is extremely attractive, but in the movies he's just meh.

Didn't everyone hate him..?

Of course he's not going to be mature. He was only--what, twenty-one? when he was imprisoned, and it's a wonder that he's sane after twelve years, even with the Animagus form. I'd anticipate major depression, dissociation, all sorts of things. The fact that, after being restored to human companionship with the Order, he behaves primarily like a moody teenager, is an evidence of great resilience. Twelve years of any sort of prison, particularly solitary, could do that. Adding in dementors? He had to be a very honestly good and strong person to be both safe and not suicidal.
