It's hard to fathom finding music without the internet. amirite?
by Anonymous11 years ago
Not really. There would still be a lot more shops that focused on selling music.

That's true, but still, i would imagine it to be limited. Sampling music is instant now; you can go from screamo to country to reggae within a minute. I've found music in so many inadvertent ways, and not to mention artists who have gotten fame solely through things like YouTube, Pandora, StumbleUpon, etc. Very little music was influenced on me when I was younger through my parents, so the internet has been a way I find music I enjoy.

That's true, it would consist mostly of talk-of-the-town rather than easily stumbling onto it like we can now.

Yeah probably, but I wonder, who were considered the "hipsters" of the different generations of music? (besides the hippies obviously)

I would probably do what my brother does. He occasionally goes to record stores- or even just Best Buy- goes to a genre section he likes, and buys whichever record has the best album cover.

I just listen to the radio 80% of the time, it's free and entertaining as well(:

Radio, then find songs you like and buy/download them.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yes, although lots of songs I know are just from listening to the radio.
