In like 3rd grade everybody thought lesbian meant that you like girls & gay meant you like boys. I didn't think so, but it was worth watching these 8 & 9 year old boys call eachother lesbians.

In my high school some dude called himself a lesbian and when I told him what it meant he called me an idiot and told me that it means you like girls. No word on which McDonalds he works at yet.

Hahaha I used to think the same thing. I told my friends once that I was gay and my brothers were lesbians.

It really bothers me when I say I'm gay and people try to correct me and say I'm a lesbian.

Gay isn't specific to a sex. It just means liking your own sex. Men who like men are gay, and women who women are gay. Lesbian specifically refers to women, but that doesn't mean gay specifically refers to men. I guess in a way it's annoying to people who'd prefer it to be black and white and not gray and white, but if you know the definition, it doesn't really matter.
