-157 When a person says "I'm sorry" to someone who recently lost a loved one, it usually sounds like a criminal confession, amirite?

To make things interesting, say "I apologize."

I hate when people say "I'm sorry." It just makes me feel sad. Its not much of a consolation, even though it is meant as one

Can you tell me what you'd prefer to hear? 'Cause I always screw up when trying to make people feel better...

Maybe something like "I'm here if you need anything" or something constructive rather than just saying sorry. And I know haha I suck with that stuff too

I see. I'll keep that in mind :)

sorry for what, i think? it is a very odd response

"I'm sorry" "It's ok, it's not your fault." "...you don't know what I did."

It's nice of you to say, but I know what I did. http://xkcd.com/945/

I always associate "I'm sorry" with "I feel bad for what I did". So when someone dies I say to their loved ones "My condolences" or "My sympathy"

Wait we are not suppose to kill people's loved ones?
