+177 It's funny that some feminist extremists get angry at women for acting "girly" rather than doing things that would normally be considered masculine, amirite?

And in case you missed that, **some** feminist **extremists**

It's because they're hypocrites who like to ruin feminism for the rest of us. Women AND men should be able to do whatever they want without being pressured to conform to stereotypical gender roles- but if they happen to have a personality that fits the stereotype they shouldn't be persecuted for that, either. Live and let live, my friends.

Still, there are some gender roles that are important. Especially during pregnancy.

It's kind of hilarious that people who think like this are, by definition, NOT FEMINISTS.

They should fight for girls to act like girls and everyone be ok with it, not to fight for girls to act like guys to be accepted.

What, per se, makes a certain behavior 'girly' or 'guyish'? It's illogical to say "You like building things, which is typically connected with masculinity, therefor you're acting like a guy!" Why put gender labels on things that are androgynous? The feminist movement is about women being treated like equals regardless of their sexuality, physical appearance, interests, etc.

Things like playing with dolls are girly. Things like playing with doll that kill stuff are guyish. I don't label androgynous things, just things at the extremes. What I meant by the comment is that instead of girls being shunned for doing stuff they like and for doing stuff guys like, they should be able to do what they want and not get shunned, not be allowed to do stuff they don't like in order to not get shunned. Most girls typically like girly stuff, and most guys typically like guyish stuff, hence the labels. THere will always be exceptions, but I'm working on the majority. It's better to solve the problems of the majority in 5 years, then those of the minority in 5 years, than to try to solve everything all at once and it takes 10 years for anyone at all to be happy.
