If you're gonna spend $700 Million on a memorial of 2400 people, you should spend $3.5 Million on a memorial of 12 Americans that died in the Batman movie theater, amirite?
This might be putting a price on human life, but that would make you agree even MORE on my post since you are saying that humans are priceless(and thus we should spend even MORE money on memorials)
Or how about we stop spending money on completely useless things? I don't want to sound completely cold, but they're dead. They're not going to come back and ask where their memorial is.
Yes true... but the theater owner likely won't put all that money just on making a memorial, and the owner will probably just say that the shooting had nothing to do with the theater itself. But you are awesome if you would put a memorial :D :P
Yeah I thought about both those things. I'm not very smart with money though so... Anyway I would at least shut down the room that it happened in. Whether they did or not I don't know.
How is it not helping out the economy? It may not seem like much is being done, but such a large memorial draws tourists, which brings money into the city. The workers building it have jobs because it needs to be built.
I dunno, I think it's helping the local economy plenty.
That's just how much the memorial costs. Who said they did a calculation for how much they should spend on each person..? That's a little over-analytical.
There are shootings and murders and deaths in general everyday. Why don't we just make memorials for every person that ever dies. 9/11 was different, I think.
I disagree because this is putting a price on human life.
I forget the name, but this one organisation put a human life as worth 6 million USD. I think.
So?
I'm saying that people already put a price on a human life.

I feel like whoever owns the theater should have a memorial put in. Not that they're a bad person if they don't but it's something that I would do.

Hardly at all in contrast to what the money could be doing instead.

That doesn't make sense. From what you just said you should spend $291,666 on a memorial for 12 Americans.
But...
2400 people is 200x 12, and
$700 Million is 200x $3.5 Million...
Is my math wrong? I am feeling a bit sleepy ._.
You spend $291,666 for EACH American...
cause 700 Million/2400 is $291,666 , amirite?
Wait yeah you're right sorry.
I forgot to multiply by 12.
lol that's alright, I make even worse mistakes sometimes
lol
Why don't they build a big memorial for all those who have died in mass shootings? That makes much more sense.
