Socially, there's unrest in the Middle East, sparks are flying between China and Japan, & with the 2012 election near, America will experience more turmoil. of course it has. I'm not saying it hasn't, but i don't agree where you say it's not out of the ordinary. When was the last time you saw uprisings like this in the Middle East, or things looking this grim for so many countries all at once? It's been centuries since something this substantial has happened WORLD WIDE.

not even. I don't remember specific details about other countries, but I know for the U.S., both wars stimulated the U.S. economy, increased employment and wages, and brought great profit to industry. So even then not all 3 superpowers were in such disparity as now. And not to mention, you're not looking at it from all the aspects. Look at the number of countries rebelling against their government at the same time and the unnatural weather.

Well, the 3 superpowers are not in serious trouble; not trouble enough for us to fall severely down the list. For one, China is rising more than it is falling. (I may be incorrect on that).I don't know quite enough about the world wars to debate with you on that, but I'm not sure I agree with you that this point in time contains the greatest amount of human turmoil, ever. Even if it was, it's still the teeniest bit outlandish to say that because there is a lot of unrest, that the world is going to end.

here's the problem with my post. I ran out of characters, or else in lieu of "Doom's Day" I would have written December 2012. Most people say December 21st although I've heard that the date should actually be the 28th because the Mayans use 8 base for their calendars instead of base 10, but don't quote me on that because I haven't done the research on it myself.
