I know a guy who's in his...30s, I believe? 40s?
Anyhow, many moons ago he met a girl online. They talked, got to know each other better, and then that grew into a relationship. Now they're married and seeing each other all the time.
You say "impossible" and that's what makes this post false. It's just not very likely, but then again, neither are real life relationships.

When my parents were dating, my dad moved to another state for work, and my mom kept up a relationship with him by flying out to see him often and talking on the phone all the time. They've been married for twenty years now.
