+155 Its quite amazing how, after hearing just the first few notes, you can remember all the lyrics to a song you haven't heard in years; but you can hardly remember what you ate for dinner 3 nights ago, amirite?

After reading this, I agreed, but thought "3 nights ago" sounded stupid, because of course 3 nights ago I had......and then couldn't for the life of me think what i ate - even as I'm typing this I can't quite remember...Anyway, to the OP - bang on! And now I'm playing a song I heard more than 4 years ago for the first time in my head...word for word

It's a different sensory process though. And besides. I bet if you ate that same all the time 4 years ago and then got a whiff of it you would know what it was immediately.

Because the olfactory senses are the greatest link to memory. Thanks, Einstein. That is completely irrelevant to the topic of this post.

How is irrelevant? That's literally what the post was about. How amazing it is that you can remember something from 4 years ago but not 3 days. I gave a legitimate reason why it's not a fair comparison.

I never said "4 years". And the comparison is irrelevant, the topic of the post is "Music". Who gives two shits about what you ate three nights ago?

You have horrible grammar for a scientist.

1. Scientist are not known for their grammar or spelling. 2. I make up my own grammar rules so that people can read what I write the way I intended it to be read. Pause when I want you to pause. I also add capitalisation in the middle of sentence on to words I find more important.
