+154 It being socially unacceptable for people to say rude things about thick people, but completely fine when a thick person says a similarly rude comment about a thinner person, is ridiculous. There are plenty of ways to be supportive of heavier men and women without degrading the thinner ones, and vise versa, amirite?

I see it all of the time, it's degradation of skinny bodies disguised as a joke. "What are you anorexic or something?" Is one I hear a lot. "Just eat this fucking sandwich." As friend is literally shoving food into your face.

I remember that short period of time when it went from "skinny is the best" to "skinny is the worst". Now it's completely wrong to yell at someone for being on the heavier side and it's perfectly fine to harass someone for being skinny. I can't help how skinny I am and I get harassed for it. I have to wear bigger jackets so I don't show how thin I am, I can't post any pictures online unless they're shoulders-up, and all in all it's just childish of people to constantly have to find something it's "socially acceptable" to harass about.
