If a woman lies about being on birth control the man shouldn't be forced to support the child, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Why should she, it takes two people to consent to sex. The guy is still responsible for the risks that having sex takes.
But interestingly enough Israel has a new crime called something along the lines as "rape by fraud", which means you gave false information in order to have sex with a person. The law has already been defended in court.

But what if the woman intentionally stopped taking birth control? (which is what OP is implying) Sure the guy takes a risk too because birth control isn't 100% effective, but if he had known she stopped taking it, perhaps he wouldn't have engaged in woohoo with her.

...why on earth would a woman lie about being on birth control?!
by Anonymous12 years ago
If she wants a baby but her partner doesn't.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Maybe she thinks that if she gets pregnant the guy will stay with her and she is afraid of him leaving her. Bitches be crazy!
by Anonymous12 years ago
Even if the guy wears a condom there's a chance of it breaking and there's a small chance birth control won't work, so if you are gonna have sex with someone, both people are always taking that risk.

But a condom breaking or birth control failing would be an accident. A woman lying about being on birth control would be her intentionally deceiving her partner to get pregnant.

i am 42, my chances of having a baby were almost gone, I met a nice man, i lied to him about my pill, and now i am having his baby, i haven't told him yet, what should i do?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I guess just be honest with him. It's something you should discuss with him and not some random person on the internet.

Interesting discussion. This is reminding me of a comic I saw once for some reason. I can't find it anywhere, but the dialogue is as follows:
Man: I only want two kids.
Woman: No I want 3.
Man: After the second child I'll just get a vasectomy.
Woman: Well I hope you love the third one as your own.

Should they be forced to? No. Would it be the right thing to do? Probably. I think that both parties are responsible, but the woman is much more so than the man.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The problem is that this would be quite hard to prove, as birth control is never 100% effective anyway.
by Anonymous12 years ago
They could blood test the girl to see her hormone level and roughly calculate from there how long she has been off the pill and when the baby was conceived. It //would// be pretty hard to prove though, since normal hormone levels have such a huge range.
by Anonymous12 years ago
There are way more methods than the pill.
by Anonymous12 years ago
To be honest, I think it would be impossible to prove unless the woman actually SAID she did it. Like you said, hormone levels vary wildly, condoms fail, all kinds of things could go wrong. I agree with the post in theory but it would just get messy in the end.

3 words WRAP IT UP
by Anonymous12 years ago
3 words SHE MADE HOLES
by Anonymous12 years ago
3 words CHEDDAR ALLIGATOR WEEKEND
...am i doing this right?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Shut the fuck up.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's four words
by Anonymous12 years ago
she has holes, so wrap it up !!
by Anonymous12 years ago
Apparently this requires more than three words.
If a girl pokes itty bitty holes in the condoms, wrapping it won't help you.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think if you're mature enough to have sex then you should know that contraceptives are not 100% effective anyway. So you should be fully aware that theres always a posiblility of having a child.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Legally forced to a certain amount of child support? No. But I agree with Neighbor, being its parent is still the right thing to do. The child shouldn't have to go through any sort of hardship just because its mom is a crazy bitch.
by Anonymous12 years ago
If anything that'd be a better reason to own up and take control.
by Anonymous12 years ago
If he's having sex with her, he should be able to trust that she's telling the truth about her birth control

Some girl at my school lied to this guy about being on birth control on purpose and got pregnant, because she felt guilty about having an abortion a year earlier
by Anonymous12 years ago
i lied to my husband about using my diaphragm and thus we now have our fourth child
