+148 It pisses you off when a kid is throwing a fit cuz they're not getting what they want and someone is like "Just give it to them so we don't have to listen to this." It's like, OK, they'll just be bad parents and teach their kids if they scream they'll get what they want just so you don't have to listen to their kid cry for the 2 minutes you have to be around them, amirite?

And if you can take your kid away from everyone and go outside, you should. But people need to realize parents basically have to bring their kid everywhere and they've got other things to do. Sometimes there's simply no time/it's impractical to leave the situation, ex., when they're in line at the grocery store and the kid is throwing a fit because they're not allowed to get candy.

Over the summer I volenteered with first and second graders. In the room there were two baloons left over from something, and one of the kids took one. One of the main people told him to throw it away, and when we went downstairs the other volenteer noticed he still had it (It was semi-deflated, something he could hide). I took it away, and the kid started crying. The other volenteer was like "Just give it back to him!" No! I wasn't going to let him steal a baloon the teacher told him to throw away just because he was crying. What good would that have done?
