+88 People in our current age already know what they want to believe and accept as morally right. If a religious system is keeping someone chained to doctrine that they inherently disagree with, it is probably better to err on the side of going with one's inner convictions and be called sinful, than to adhere to the religious law and hate themselves for it, amirite?

Hmm, but maybe this could also be a good thing. People also need to reexamine their morals from time to time and think about what they base them on. If they find that they are based on selfishness or any form personal interest they can work on improving themselves in that regard. So conflict with a religion's morals and your personal morals shoudn't be shrugged off but should result in introspection which always results in some form of good.
