+64 Some parents should understand that the main reason to get a handheld console is to play games exclusive to that console, not to play the same games you have at home, but in public, amirite?

I feel like this isn't very clear. When I was little, I asked my parents for a Gameboy Color because I wanted to play Pokemon. My mom started yelling about how I already have computer games at home, so why should I play in public? I told her Pokemon was only on the GBC and that I would leave it at home, but she then shifted to how it's a waste of money to buy something portable if you're not going to 'port' it. SHe also said I could get it on the computer. Today that would be fine, but there were a few problems back then: 1. I don't think emulators existed then, 2. the HD graphics of Pokemon G/S/C would have lagged my Win95 comp. 3. We had dial up, so I couldn't download any games or emulators because my parents had limited data. My mom has grasped the concept of game exclusivity since then and has let me earn an iPhone.

"Spoiled ass little bitches. Appreciate the games you HAVE.."-- Most Moms

Yeah children should appreciate what they have, but I would appreciate if parents also used logic in their arguments.

LOL.. Kids shouldn't be argueing with their parents.. Even when you disagree with their method, in their mind, it's always "for your own good". My Mom's favorite argument was: "Cause I'm the mom and I said so"

And I hope she eventually caved and got you the GBC :)

Nah she didn't. But she allowed me to earn an iPhone earlier this year. I actually prefer her to use the I said so reason than illogical support. To me, it's like the difference between omission and commission.
