It's like those changes to Facebook, and how no one really remembers why they were so angry about them.

Read above comment. People don't like facebook changes because they're familiar with how it was. When a change directly effects the efficacy of something, it's safe to say it's not the fact people are unfamilar with change but the fact it makes it less efficient that pisses them off.

Most of the time it's only less efficient because they aren't used to it.

Again, it only seems that way because you aren't used to it. Once you get used to it, it's no different than how it was before.
