It is utterly ridiculous that tv shows are ad supported on tv, but if they are allowed to be streamed online, you have to watch ads there,too. It is like tv shows get paid twice for existing, amirite?

erm...isn't the advertising and revenue for the network rather than the tv show itself? those shows are just made by whoever and sold to the networks (except self-produced ones that some networks offer). I'm not sure it works like you're saying it does.
