+156 Its unfair how if a fat girl posts a picture of herself in her underwear saying how she loves her body, she's proud of how she looks, etc. She gets comments about how 'brave' and 'real' she is but if a skinny girl does the exact same thing she gets called an attention whore, amirite?

Fat girls are brave for posting a picture of their body knowing most people don't think it's attractive and a thinner girl is an attention whore to post a picture of her body knowing most people find thinness attractive.

Just because someone's thin doesn't mean they think they're attractiveand just because someone's fat doesn't mean they think they're unattractive

Few people are happy with your body. I'm really thin, and trust me, no one can avoid weight comments. "You're like a twig" "You need to eat a sandwich" "ew, you can see your ribs" (I was in a leotard at the time, streatching. It isn't like a normal thing). Not to mention I'm pretty flat-chested, so I'm self consious about that. No one is safe.

I'm aware, I deal with it too. But you'd be blind to deny thinness is preferable to fatness in our society. I know it hurts to be told to go eat a cheeseburger. I'm also aware a lot of people would prefer to have a body type close to mine than a fat girls. So yeah, I'd be an attention whore to post a picture of my body knowing people find the qualities of my body desirable. And yes, I'm aware not all thin girls thing they're pretty and not all fat girls think they're ugly. It doesn't matter because they know how society sees it. I didn't say a skinny girl is an attention whore for posting a picture of her body knowing she's attractive. I said a skinny girl is an attention whore for posting that picture knowing other people find those traits desirable.

And you're forgetting, the girl the post is talking about says she's proud of her body. OP seems to have forgotten that too.

My main point in this was not weather or not society liked some girl, it was that you don't know how someone feels about themselves or sees themselves. Just because you see someone as skinny doesn't mean they do too.

Maybe all types of girls should just stop posting pictures of themselves in their underwear...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ooor, maybe more of them should!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Or maybe everyone should just be in their underwear AT ALL TIMES to avoid situations like this.

Then it would lose it's special-ness.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That was kind of my point. I guess I forgot to say that.

"See my awesomeness" and "It's not that bad" are totally different.
