If we were the last generation, meaning once we die out, the earth will continue with no human life, we would live a lot differently right now. Which doesn't really make much sense considering that when YOU die, your world does end, amirite?

when we die, we still care about everybody who is still alive. we never really experience having nothing, so we always have the rest of the world around us. we may leave the world, but it never really "ends" to us as long as life goes on

We'd probably pollute like mad because the borrowing earth from our kids thing is taken out and a lot of people don't really care about other animals and plants. Some may also reason that it will all heal once were gone.
