+43 It would be cool if someone formed a company, grow it like mad and expand into lots of different industries, yet somehow keep their pledge to never become an **impersonal** behemoth, amirite?

I don't know if you have any experience dealing with the company Virgin before. They have media stores, a train service, an airline, a record label, mobile phone network...it's a huge company anyway. The head of it, Richard Branson, is famous for his more down-to-earth approach. It is said that you're only ever 2 or 3 phone transfers away from his own office, and he has been known to take calls from ordinary customers --- me included. I got screwed over by Virgin Trains once when I was in high school. I called them up to report the guy on the train and their crappy treatment of a high school student, despite marketing themselves as a youth-friendly organization. I was put through to Richard Branson's office after I joked about the idea. And I spoke with him! And he promised it would all be handled expediently! Indeed it was, within 3 days I had recieved notification of a full refund of the money I was wrongfully charged, as well as 200 pounds of vouchers to spend at Virgin Megastore, and a pass giving me 50% off my next 5 rail journeys! And that's before the personal apology from Branson and another official in Virgin Trains. Get that! Sometimes the behemoths get personal too!

Holy crap that's awesome! I think their only presence in Singapore is the drink which isn't sold anymore. I always knew they were huge, but I never thought the CEO would be an awesome guy.

Oh yeah they used to make Virgin Cola - I actually really liked it I used to choose it over coke when I was in the UK. It's a British company, but now really a multinational. Yeah you should check out branson's wiki page. The guy is awesome.
