Okay, I'd say since there are a good amount of deaths, it is a little too soon, but compared to other tragedies, it'd be okay to make jokes about this event earlier than other events in the past where more people were killed. I think that's how it goes anyway.

Yeah. People have been making 9/11 jokes for years. And Sandy has only 1/30th of its death toll. i hate 9/11 jokes though.

It also depends on the person making the joke. Some people do it just to be mean and others use humor to help themselves cope with tragedies.
