There were 2 yesterday because it was decided to change it.
But this one is the correct (and only) POTD for November 7th. You may be confused because of the daylight savings change?
I guess people thought it was too hard and prestigious to get a potd when you look at the astounding quality of recent ones so they tried to lower the potd level so to speak.
I have a friend who was born and raised in Canada and she gets soo worked up over the election. Like REALLY worked up. The only information she basis her opinion off is from tumblr and says "I have the right to be worried since what happens in the U.S falls upon us too!"
It never happened before. A post would get POTD'd, and that counted as being homepaged. They've never(in my time on Amirite)been homepaged then POTD'd on the same day.
Why don't you let us know after YOU have spent the last year or so living your life campaigning tirelessly to win the highest political office in our country and debatably the most powerful position in the world, while having every single thing you say be scrutinized by the public?
A) No there isn't. Bush-Gore was a recount, but only because of how close it was. The past few elections have been so recognizably one candidate or another that recounts aren't needed.
I live in a republican state, so my Facebook is full of claims like "Obama won this election how he won the last one: by lying and cheating", people changing their profile pictures to upside down flags, and jokes about how the end of the world has started.
Funny that you say that because before the election ended everyone on my facebook was saying it was the end of the world if Romney got elected. I live in New York by the way.
There was a lot of "I'm moving to Canada if Romney wins" on my newsfeed. When Obama won, it was "Yay, now I can continue to afford college" and stuff like that. I actually didn't see a single thing in support of Romney, although some people wanted other party candidates or just weren't voting..
Also, I love how people are downvoting a lot of comments on this post simply because they don't agree. I mean, that's actually a legitimate reason, but why would someone downvote a comment saying congratulations to Obama? Even Romney politely conceded his loss, why can't other people?
Mine's mixture of both here because I live in Florida, but surprisingly, most are supportive of the President. However, I think it's really rude to go to that extent the criticize the POTUS. To quote one of my friends, "He's the leader of our nation; have some respect."
I DEMAND A RECOUNT ON THE OTHER POTDs TODAY
I was going to post the exact same thing.
Isn't this the third 'POTD' today?
"How many potd could amirite post if amirite could post potds."
The answer? 3.

You can tell the American election gets too much coverage when a Canadian makes a post like this about it.
Well if we can't be the best, we can be the most obnoxious.
Why is this even post of the day? Like, come on, now... it's POST of the day, not POSTS.
I should be appointed POTD Finder.
I guess people thought it was too hard and prestigious to get a potd when you look at the astounding quality of recent ones so they tried to lower the potd level so to speak.
Obama will win because once we go black, we never go back.
Canadian flag
YOU DON'T EVEN GO HERE!!!
'Mean Girls' references are the best
Not if you say what the reference is.

Congratulations Obama!
This was on the homepage and POTD'd on the same day. You can see both if you scroll down a bit.

It has happened a few times before
As predicted, they're calling for a recount in Ohio. Sigh why is it so hard to admitt defeat?

You would be that guy.
It wouldn't even matter if Romney won Ohio. He still lost. Romney only had 206.
A) Why do you assume there would be a recount?
B) Why would that be a bad thing?
A) Because there is literally always a recount.
B) No one said it would be a bad thing, it's just a fact.
A) No there isn't. Bush-Gore was a recount, but only because of how close it was. The past few elections have been so recognizably one candidate or another that recounts aren't needed.
Sorry, I should rephrase- there is literally always outcry for a recount, as OP said.

I live in Arizona. The "pull the brown guy over" state.
