They have to blow real hard. Really, they must have a good lung capacity to exert that much pressure.

Seriously? It takes a REAL man to play a clarinet, the essential wooden flute of an orchestra. (Hey, it has like 27 fucking keys. It isn't easy to play - you're expected to play from FOGHORN to PIERCING SQUEAL ABOUT AS HIGH AS A PICCOLO. That takes some REALLY tight lips [the latter, that is.].)

If you have never played the French Horn, you don't know what misery is. No one wants to play it because when you first start out and even for a while the notes are hard to hit, you can play almost the full chromatic scale just on open using your mouth. The notes up high are the most terrible things you ever play and the low notes are just the same. You have to cover an unbelieable range. It's pure hell. But i wouldn't want to play anything else. It takes( in my mind)a certain type of person to play horn.

even being a clarinet (and oboe- also a shitload of keys), I'll have to side with OP. At least the clarinet only has one key.
