+30 We're the same people, just living in different places, and influenced by different people, culture, and ideas, Amirite?

No, that would only be true if our lives were 100% nurture and 0% nature. We can't forget about genetics.

i was referring strictly to the mind, though. a person can be born in the body of another person and there would be no noticeable oddity in it, that's what i'm saying

So you're saying that the body doesn't matter. In that sense, we're all the same person physically (human). It's the mind that counts? If so, I don't think that would be completely correct, either. Maybe I'm still not getting what you're saying.

we're not the same //person//, we're the same //people//. I'm saying the minds of two different people of different races can have minds just as similar as two people of different races, but being bred by different cultures and environments can make them seem very different. We're not all the same, but I think that we aren't (mentally) as different as culture makes us seem. If we were all influenced by the same culture and the exact same stimuli altogether, then we'd be extremely alike, if not the same.

Okay, now I see what you're saying. You're speaking in a broader sense than I realized. Yes, inherently we are the same mentally, as a species. However, from person to person, individual DNA //does// make a difference, even in the same environment. I think there would be a notable difference if your mind grew up in someone else's body. Still, I changed my vote.
