+49 It is sometimes possible to determine the personality of a stranger by their physical appearance and behavior, amirite?

If the stranger is the type of person that actually uses how they look and act to reflect their true personality instead of acting and dressing a certain way just to fit in or please people.

If I saw a stranger who was covered in blood and carrying a machete then I would make a judgement from his appearance about his personality and decide not to give him a big hug. More likely I'd run a mile.

And what if they had just fought their way out of a kidnappers holding place in the woods and escaped a horror movie scenario. Then you end up being the faceless character in the movie who drives right down the road and doesn't save them. Then they get caught again by the pursuing bad guys and have to spend another 45 minutes of the movie escaping again. Shame.

It's possible. It's also possible that they'd have all the same interests as me and we'd become blood brothers if I did give him a hug. Unfortunately my survival instinct is too strong and the probability seems rather low, so I'll have to befriend somebody who doesn't look like they've just stepped out of a horror movie instead.

Sure it is, Sherlock. Sure it is.

It will only be an assumption; one that ou will never know (until getting to know that person) whether it was right or not. there's always the potential to be wrong in such an instance

Maybe not their exact personality, but you could probably get an idea of where they hang out and what they like.
