+104 What if every fire drill that happened in your school was a real fire, but they just told you it was a drill so you wouldn't panic and trample each other and harm each other in the process of evacuation, Amirite?

That's what they did in my high school. We didn't know if it was a real fire until we saw fire trucks coming to the school.

In some school districts fire trucks go to the drills, and the firefighters participate in the evacuation. It's practice for them.

That happened to us in eighth grade. Some moron put a book on top of a light in the stairwell and it started to burn.

And the school was still intact every time.

Wouldn't they tell you it was a fire later?

We had a tornado "drill" last year and I was wondering why it was taking so long, so I checked my phone and found out there were tornadoes touching down all over the place.

Too bad my school always told us we were SCHEDULED to have a drill that day.

Mine too. The thing is if it goes off randomly everyone just assumes someone pulled the alarm for some reason. Most of the time it went off by mistake and there's an announcment telling us to go back to class, once it was actually a small fire in the kitchen of the cafeteria. But no one ever panics.

That would suck, I've spent more than one hiding in the dressing room of my school. Because it's hard to get everyone back into class they've started doing them at the end of the day, and they won't let you back in the school for like, ten minutes. I often have rehearsal after school, so it would be annoying to have to go outside, wait a while, and then go back.
