Canada actually has much more resources than gas. Fuel isn't what our economy is based on and, in fact, only the people in Alberta basically depend on in. Everywhere else is economically based on something else. Ex: maritimes has fishing. Since we're talking about this anyway, countries in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Iran and Iraq have nearly their entire economies based on gas. Like they didn't become an industrialized country until oil was discovered whereas Canada was industrialized long before that. Sincerely, a proud Canadian :)
