-9 If someone wants to smoke weed with their future children (when they're old enough), that doesn't make them a bad parent, amirite?

I disagree for a simple reason that a parent should never encourage their child to break the law. It's be like teaching a child "It's OK not to stop a stop sign when there is no one around." Even if it's technically true, why actually take the risk of teaching your child that? Now, if they live in a country like the Netherlands where smoking pot is the equivalent of drinking alcohol and no one bats an eyelash when a 13 year old drinks or smokes, that's a different story.

It can't be wrong to smoke weed when it's illegal and then okay to smoke weed when it's legal. Either it's okay or it's not okay, the law is irrelevant and changes nothing.

That just means that down the road either you, or your child will get arrested and have some nice heft fines. By not smoking weed with your child, you are teaching them to be discreet about breaking the law, the most important lesson of all.
